OUR RATING
Looking first at the left side of the Deathadder Elite, you’ll see a pair of thumb buttons and a grip where the thumb rests. The side buttons are large compared to some mice but it does make them easier to find while under pressure in the middle of a game. Most of the time you will find your thumb resting on the grip and not the buttons, with the grip being the perfect size for a finger and preventing any hand slipping even when sweaty. There is a slight inward curve to the body of the left side which improves comfort and ergonomics.
Next, looking at the right side of the mouse, you’ll find the edge has an outward curve to it. This is also to help with hand comfort and ergonomics. Along this curve is another finger grip, the grip will not only aid in comfort, but make it easier to grip the mouse for movements and prevent any slipping.
In the front of the Deathadder Elite, you’ll see a smooth and sleek surface. This is different form the Naga Chroma that had a grill style front to the mouse.
The cable for the mouse is braided, which is preferred among gamers, and includes a standard USB connector.
The left and the right mouse buttons have a bit of a curve to them, both being perfectly shaped to fit your fingers. Razer used their mechanical switches in the mouse to give it an extremely fast response. The previous Deathadder had buttons that were so sensitive that you may accidentally press them, but that’s not a problem with the Deathadder Elite.
On the top of the mouse you’ll find the scroll wheel, which is RGB illuminated. The scroll wheel has a tactile grip, as opposed to the previous Deathadder. Some may argue that the tactile grip on the wheel is not as comfortable as the smooth surface, but you want control with your scroll wheel so we feel this change is for the better. If you look just behind the scroll wheel, you’ll find a pair of DPI switches. The previous Deathadder did not include these buttons, and they are a welcome addition to the Deathadder Elite. The forward button is to increase sensitivity, and the rear button is for decreasing sensitivity. The buttons have a slim design to them so they won’t get in your way during normal use, but are easy to find and click when the time comes. The Razer Deathadder Elite doesn’t have any RGB lights for the DPI sensitivity on the mouse itself, but rather has a bar that appears on the screen whenever you adjust it, showing you what sensitivity level you’re at.
The shape of the mouse is perfect for any grip, but was designed with palm grip users in mind. Looking at the palm rest behind the DPI buttons you’ll see the signature Razer snake logo illuminated with RGB. The scroll wheel is also illuminated and both can be modified by the Razer Synapse software. Underneath the mouse is 2 large glide pads, where the previous model had 3 small pads and did not move as smoothly.
The 5G optical sensor at the center of the underside of the mouse has a maximum DPI of 16,000, which is one of the highest in the industry at this time. The previous model only went up to 10,000 DPI, so you will never have to worry about your mouse not being sensitive enough with the Deathadder Elite. You will also be able to use this mouse on both matte and glossy surfaces without any worry of the mouse not sensing anything or performing any differently.
The comfort of the Deathadder Elite is something to respect, arguably the most comfortable gaming mouse on the market. With it’s smooth surface and attention to detail, both gamers and non gamers alike agree that it’s a comfortable and ergonomic mouse.
With the Razer Synapse software, you can modify your mouse to have it just the way you like it for each and every game you play. Under the customization tab you can create, import, and export profiles for your mouse, so it’s always set up the way you want it for each program and game. Under the performance tab you can set the sensitivity for each of the 5 DPI levels. Under the lighting tab you can customize the RGB of the logo and mouse wheel. You can choose setting all the way from static to fast breathing and others in between, including all 16.8 millions colors available. You can even choose wether or not to have your mouse continue to be illuminated even after your PC has shut down, which we think is pretty cool!
With great functions and features all wrapped up into a comfortable design, we think the Razer Deathadder Elite is a good choice for beginner and professional gamers alike. This is a best selling mouse used worldwide, both by casual and professional gamers. If you’re looking for your next mouse, this could be it!
